Waking Up
Okezue’s Learnings from 2020
Mornings are kinda my thing now. So are nights, but that’s another story.
The morning is so revitalizing. It’s calm, but you can feel your kinetic energy rising as your strength comes back to you after an ultra-long power nap (more commonly known as sleep).

- Ellevest CEO and co-founder Sallie Krawcheck wakes at 4 a.m.
- Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama and Indra Nooyi have been known to rise at the crack of dawn
- This article disproves you 😝: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/17/10-highly-successful-people-who-wake-up-before-6-a-m.html
And no, you don’t need to wake up before 6 AM, or even that early always, but waking up at a reasonable time and having a productive morning should be your thing.
A majority of Americans don’t wake up that early. 11:00 am is considered one of the median times for waking up. Now imagine if school was completely asynchronous (for those of you already doing school starting at 11:00 am, NOT FAIR 😒). That time would go forward to about 2 PM as the median…
