Stop Looking for Security

If there’s one thing in 2020 we all wanted, it was security.

Whether politically, economically, financially, personally, mentally, we all wanted security.

With all of the crazy things that happened in our world, it would make sense that our instincts told us that we should want everything to calm down and go back to normal.

Everything should just change and get better. Everything should go back to being how it used to be.

But why? How does that even make sense?

Why would we want things to go back, if things back then weren’t much better? Why do we want to retro gate, when there’s the prospect of the future?

Our fundamental way of thinking doesn’t actually make sense 🤯. A pretty standard occurrence for humans, to be honest.

Anyway, why do we want security?

  1. Kids are mean.
  2. Adults are sometimes meaner.
  3. People have insecurities → makes sense to want just security
  4. Being average is considered “ok”.
  5. We are afraid of the inevitability of change.
  6. We don’t understand enough things in our world to put trust in it.
