So, why does protein production play such a huge role in horrible environmental effects?

  • Overfishing = 85% of the world’s fisheries overfished
  • Global fishing rate is 2–3 times bigger than what the ocean can sustainably support
  • 2050, there will be more plastic than fish
  • Fish is the healthiest protein source, but now its dangerous

So clearly, things like transportation and “saving the turtles” isn’t the only way we’re going to stop such an important problem. Food is 25% of global warming. What? That’s pretty surprising huh? Well yep, that delcious sushi or spread of sushi is going to have to wait, because with each bit we take, we’re KILLING the Earth, STARVING the population, and DESTROYING fish. While yes, these are radical claims, there are serious issues with our fish production industry.

Enter cellular agriculture. More specifically, enter cellular aquaculture — cell ag for aquatic animals. Now that you know the basics of cells from the first part, we can get into it.
